Old – As in House

f9   1/4sec   ISO200

24 – 70mm @ 24mm

How old is old? In Australia old is 80 years or more. Here in England I am staying in this house built in 1640 (dated) and the timbers in the photo are even older than that! It is amazing to wake in a room like this and wonder what these walls have seen.

Close Up – Lavender

f16   1/5sec   ISO 100

90mm macro f2.8

At last! I may be travelling, but I can still take photos.

Lavender has everything going for it, colour and scent and exquisite tiny flowers forming the lavender spike. I’m really happy with the way the rest of the bush is blurred in the background and shows as a haze of blue.

Week 13 – Old

This week our topic is old!  Shouldn’t be too hard to find something that fits this description!

Week 12 – Close Up

Yikes!  I’m really getting behind on this, and with Mum traveling there’s no one to kick my butt into gear…  So a couple of weeks being posted together, then I need to get my photos sorted out.

Week 12 is close-up – not necessarily macro, but getting right up close to something.  Could end up abstract or capturing an entire object, fill the frame or just a part of it.  Let’s see what we’ve got.

Lines – Of Rusty Wire

f 8     1/125       100 ISO

24 – 70mm     2.8

Plenty of rusty wire where I live, though I had a hard time choosing between lines in the sky and lines on tree bark.

I love the variety of colours that occur in rusty wire and never tire of shooting it, this one is a favourite; well this week anyway!

Week 11 – Lines

Lines is the theme for this week – another topic that is terribly broad and could mean whatever you want it to :)

In The Kitchen – Breakfast Time

f7.1  1/5  ISO400

24-70mm 2.8 @ 43mm

A bit of a set up, but I picked up the daffodils while buying groceries so had to use them, and this is actually what I have for breakfast.  I love all the bright colours – feels very spring-like for the middle of winter!  Now, if only I had the table straight…  Hmmm… really need to get my programs set up, this hasn’t re-sized well at all – the original image was tack sharp, might replace it once I get my computer sorted out again.

Food – Muffins!

f4.5   1/4  ISO200

100mm macro

Fresh, home made apple and cinnamon muffins made from scratch, kinda.  Tasted pretty good and looked fantastic, I thought they also made a great subject for the Food topic – what an excuse for making home made muffins!  Sorry for the delay, been computer-less at home for a bit over a week, so while this time I actually HAD taken the photos I just couldn’t get at them until now :)

In The Kitchen – Forks

f16     1/2sec    ISO 100

90mm  2.8

Such a lot of images I could have taken, but re-arranging the cutlery became interesting and the forks won from the spoons and knives.

Week 10 – In The Kitchen

Where to start with this one…   Anything from a wide angle of the entire room down to a macro of the benchtop.  Food, utensils, appliances, anything including the kitchen sink is fair game!
